Create Performance Review

Use Create Performance Review to create a new Performance Review.

Create a Basic Performance Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the title of the review in the Review Title: field.

  4. Click the Basic (Averaged) radio button.

The Basic (Averaged) Performance Review consists of one or more performance definitions as defined by the administrator. Each performance definition is given a score by the administrator when an employee review is entered in the Performance Review screen in the administration tab. The total score of the Performance Review is the average of all of the performance definition scores.

Note:   

You can attach a Company Document to a Performance Review so it can be viewed when completing the review on the administration tab.

You can select which sections to include on Page 2 when completing the review.

  1. Click Next >>.

  2. Complete the applicable fields.

  3. Click Done.

Create an Advanced Weighted Performance Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the title of the review in the Review Title: field.

  4. Click the Advanced (Weighted) with radio button.

  5. Select the number of sections for the review from the Advanced (Weighted) with drop-down menu.

Note:   

You can attach a Company Document to a Performance Review so it can be viewed when completing the review on the administration tab.

You can select which sections to include on Page 2 when completing the review.

  1. Click Next >>.

  2. Complete the applicable fields for Section Names and Weights.

    Note:   

    The weight of the total number of sections must equal 100.

  3. Click Next >>.

  4. Complete the applicable fields.

  5. Click Done.

Create a History Performance Review

Use History (No Definitions Needed) to enter a previous performance review score for an employee whose performance review was completed before this Paychex application became available to the company. The administrator manually types the review score in the Performance Review screen in the administration tab.

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the title of the review in the Review Title: field.

  4. Click the History (No Definitions Needed) radio button.

    Note:   

    You can attach a Company Document to a Performance Review so it can be viewed when completing the review on the administration tab.

  5. Click Next >>.

Create a Self Performance Review

Self performance reviews can be used for:

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the title of the review in the Review Title: field.

  4. Click the Self (Average) radio button.

    Note:   

    You can attach a Company Document to a Self Review so it can be viewed when completing the review on the employee tab.

    You can select which sections to include on Page 2 when completing the review.

  5. Click Next >>.

  6. Complete the applicable fields.

  7. Click Next >>.

  8. Select the appropriate employee(s).

  9. Click Done>>.

  10. Complete the review.

  11. Click Save & Close >>.

Copy a Self (Averaged) Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Copy. A copy of the Self (Averaged) review displays.

Edit a Self (Averaged) Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Edit. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the review title, then click Next.

  4. Complete the applicable fields.

  5. Click Done.

Remove a Self (Averaged) Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Remove.

  3. Click OK to the pop-up message.

Create a Peer Review

Peer reviews provide the ability to create peer review types and assign them to specific employees so they can perform evaluations of their fellow peers.

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Type the title of the review in the Review Title: field.

  4. Click the Peer (Averaged) radio button.

    Note:   

    You can attach a Company Document to a Peer Review so it can be viewed when completing the review on the employee tab.

    You can select to include Peer Comments on Page 2 when completing the review.

  5. Click Next >>.

  6. Complete the applicable fields.

  7. Click Done >>.

Edit a Peer Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Click Next >>. The Create Performance Review - Step 2 screen displays.

  5. Complete the applicable fields.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Done.

Copy a Peer Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Click Copy.

  4. Complete the applicable fields.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Click Done.

Remove a Peer Review

  1. Click company setup | Customizable Options | Performance Reviews.

  2. Click Create Performance Review. The Create Performance Review screen displays.

  3. Click Remove.

  4. Click OK to the pop-up message.
